KOTA BHARU, 16 Julai -- Jabatan Kastam Diraja Malaysia (JKDM) mematahkan cubaan menyeludup 2.5 juta batang rokok yang ditinggalkan dalam sebuah lori di tepi Jalan Kuala Kemasin, Bachok, Selasa lepas.

Pengarah JKDM Kelantan Wan Jamal Abdul Salam Wan Long (tengah) berkata hasil intipan pada 1 pagi, pihaknya menemukan rokok putih berjenama itu disyaki diseludup masuk melalui jalan laut di dalam sebuah lori lima tan.

“Siasatan mendapati kesemua rokok itu dianggarkan bernilai RM208,000 di pasaran tempatan manakala jumlah cukai terlibat adalah sebanyak RM1,736,800,” katanya pada sidang media di pejabat JKDM di sini, hari ini.
