DJ KJ takes over HotFM’s Bekpes Hot

EARLIER this morning, former UMNO member Khairy Jamaluddin made his radio hosting debut with HotFm and showed off his colourful side.

The former health minister was welcomed by radio hosts Mohammad Yazid Lim Mohamad Aziz or better known as Johan, and Muhammad Azmir Selamat as the latest addition to Hot FM’s Bekpes Hot.

Johan claimed that many people tuned in to the station to listen in on Khairy’s debut as a host.

Several topics were discussed, including Khairy’s life after the 15th General Election last year, with him admitting that he felt “jammed” because he didn’t know what to do and was constantly thinking about his future, according to The Vibes.

Following his mandatory rest period, he added that his morning routine now mostly consists of sleeping in.

Khairy made a concerted effort to be an entertaining radio host, engaging in banter with his colleagues and even joking about whether the radio station’s sponsor, a skincare brand, could help lighten his skin.

Given his desire to continue pursuing a political career, Khairy joked that his motivation for joining the team was to avoid being forgotten.

“Hot FM is the best in the market. Of course, I still have aspirations to be a politician.

“I do not want people to forget me, so by being in this station, we can talk and joke every day,” he added.

The former Rembau MP’s sense of humour did not overshadow his serious side, as he mentioned the Turkiye earthquake and various ways for listeners to donate.

Moreover, several listeners also had the chance to speak with Khairy.

One of the audience members Radirul wished him luck in his new endeavour and anticipated an increase in listenership for the station.

Meanwhile, town planning student Afiqah could hardly contain her excitement when discussing Kuala Lumpur’s regional planning with him.

Khairy also confirmed he would be taking over as manager of Johor Darul Ta’zim FC and thanked Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim for the opportunity. — Feb 15, 2023
