Shadow of DAP in China flag: Jalur Gemilang can fly high in UK, Palestinian flags are adored here

“WATCHING the video frightens me. Those flags are everywhere. They also bring dummy keris to fight”. Such was the sarcasm penned by pro-Madani government on the X platform, alluding to a Malaysia Day celebration that took place in the British capital of London.

Fellow pro-Pakatan Harapan (PH) social media influencer JOKER🔺(@tjerealjoker) seized the moment to hit out at the opposition PAS “with its narrow political viewpoints”.

“Their work is looking for political capital to spark chaos in the country,” observed JOKER in a separate post. They’ll use anything to whack DAP, especially when they want to pit Type C against Type M. But are there people making noise like this about Global Ikhwan? Nope.”

Such reaction come on the back of the controversial “massive China flag-waving” during a cultural possession in the vicinity of the Teluk Intan’s Leaning Tower on Thursday (Oct 24) night.

In fact, many opposition backers have trolled Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad who remarked that it was fine for tourists or citizens from the Great Wall nation to wave the flags of their respective countries during the International Guan Gong Cultural Festival which had sparked controversy.

On the contrary, the five-term Kota Tampan state assemblyman contended that such act would be deemed unlawful or become a crime if it is done by locals or Malaysian citizens.

Saarani who is also the UMNO supreme council member further drew the analogy of Malaysians in foreign lands such as the UK who wave the Jalur Gemilang during social gatherings to express their sense of patriotism.

After all, the Guan Gong Cultural Association of Malaysia chairman Soon Boon Hua had apologised to all Malaysians for the incident involving the waving of China flags, alluding to fact that the act of waving the flag of another country was never planned in the existing programme itinerary prepared by the event organiser.

On this note, the police had confirmed that no Malaysian citizens were involved in such unpatriotic act while the cops had hauled up 17 Chinese nationals to record their statements.

This led to the issue of the issue of the waving of Palestinian flags with pro-PH supporter BULETIN RMS (@RajaMohdShahrim) chiding PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari that if Malaysians are welcome to wave flags of other nations on condition that they surrender their citizenship first, then Kelanatanese would make the bulk of such people.

“I support because many Kelantanese fly the Palestinian flag on their vehicles, homes, eateries and restaurants instead of the Malaysian flag. The law has to be fair to everyone in this country,” he suggested.

In all fairness, ‘hyper’ sensitivity in the waving of China flags are politically motivated by opposition forces to provoke with the hope of uniting the Malays against the perceived domineering DAP influence   considering the party has the most number of parliamentary seats in today’s ruling Madani government.

This has led to ‘ill-conceived’ double standards such as this justification by a pro-opposition cybertrooper.

“Flying the Palestinian flag is a sign of solidarity with Palestine. Waving the flag of another country when the dignitary arrives, that’s respect. Flying the Chinese communist flag in Teluk Intan for what? Solidarity with communism?” – Oct 28, 2024
