AI’s ability to generate hyper-realistic video may mean the loss of many future jobs

THE advancement in AI is very real and very frightening as its immense potential will spell a dramatic change to the employment landscape.

Recently, netizen el-cine on X posted a breakthrough by Hunyuan AI which is capable of making very realistic videos.

Does this spell the possibility of videographers running out of jobs in the near future? In the viral post, el-cine attached a realistic video showing a couple talking while walking in the park.

“Can you tell it’s AI? Because I can’t,” he said.

He also added several hyper realistic AI made videos in the comment section for comparison.

Unsurprisingly, netizens are stumped by the quality of the work.

However, some sharp-sighted netizens were able to spot some discrepancies in the videos generated by Hunyuan AI.

Then there was Timbot2002 who pointed out problems with the hands of the people which is a giveaway.

ArtificalGeek Studio remarked that the videos reminded him of the stock videos. However, he added that some of the people in the videos are morphing which marks the production of AI.

Will Bermender said that the movements are unnatural but impressive. Regardless, this is indeed a breakthrough for AI.

To better grasp the magnitude of the impact, Rogério Perdiz stated that even the best 3DCGi wouldn’t make it as real without 6 months of work. But how does AI develop videos of such amazing quality?

According to snapbar, machine learning algorithms, when trained on vast datasets, can identify patterns and correlations that help them create visually coherent videos.

These algorithms analyse visual elements like objects, scenes, and emotions, using this data to build engaging videos.

The strength of machine learning lies in its capacity to evolve and enhance over time.

As an AI video generator processes more data, its algorithms become more sophisticated, producing videos that are increasingly realistic and captivating.

This continuous learning process ensures that the videos generated are of top-notch quality. —Dec 19, 2024
