Viral video shows young girl being brutally forced into arranged marriage

MARRIAGE isn’t always about the cakes, white gown and the words, “I do.” In certain countries, it is more of a union of necessity, and that means no candle light dinners, or romantic walks at the beaches before it is time to hit the bed.

Take it from this viral video where a young girl was allegedly forced by her parents to marry a much older man. 

She could be seen crying while her parents, front, left, centre were either choking or grabbing her arms, hand and everywhere. 

Not much information or facts could be derived from the brief video, but nonetheless, netizens were sympathetic towards the girl. 

Netizen @realMaalouf who brought the video to light claimed that it happened in Bangladesh and that the man was 40-years old.

“Being a girl dad, this is heartbreaking. How can a parent do this to their own child, or any child? said @GGl2047133.

Netizen @SherriHoss even compared this with sex trafficking considering she was so young. According to a cynical @TeslaClubLA, arranged marriages have a lower incidence of divorce for a variety of reasons.

“But no matter how you slice it, this is plain wrong and unacceptable,” he said. To this statement, @SebastienN14 replied that it was because these women were seen and treated as merchandise and their husbands beat them if they are not obedient, that they become slaves.
“If I were the man in question, I would give up on this marriage seeing that she is being forced, it’s insane,” said a conscientious @rancourttony1.
Another netizen wondered if a forced signature render said signature null and void. “I would think so,” said @WhereFlip.
However, several others have since emerged to throw doubt into the authenticity of the story. According to @TamzidSalehin, the family was actually trying to force her to sign a divorce paper. 
The reason was that the boy she married already had a wife and  a kid. @1Snehaa further identified the video as being several years old.
“I don’t remember what was the case, but it has been fact checked and I think it wasn’t about marriage,” she said.
There were too many versions of the truth on the cyberspace. Another netizen claimed it was a Hindu girl being forced to convert to Islam and marry a Muslim man against her and her family wishes. —Apr 29, 2025
