MALAYSIANS have snubbed the authorities following the family appeal made by the family of Datin Seri Pamela Ling Yueh for information after she went missing on April 9, the day she was supposed to meet the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in Putrajaya.
Putting on their detective cap, suffice to say they smell a rat as to why there has been no latest development on Ling’s whereabouts, leading to their hinting the possibility of a cover-up judging from previous unresolved cases.

“The wife of a businessman linked to a controversial land deal in Sabah was intercepted by three cars while in a Grab heading to the MACC office and abducted in broad daylight,” recounted South China Post Malaysia correspondent Hadi Azmi (@amerhadiazmi) on X.
‘It sounds a lot like what happened to Pastor Raymond Koh.”

Recall that Koh was abducted after his car was surrounded by three black SUVs outside Kuala Lumpur on Feb 13, 2017.
Prior to his disappearance, Koh ran an NGO focused on helping people living with HIV/AIDs, recovering addicts, single mothers and children.
Added the newsman to a foreign media outlet:
“In the pastor’s case, all the police and PJ (Petaling Jaya) city council CCTV cameras along the route that day were conveniently offline as testified by former IGP Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.
“We only knew what happened because of a recording from a privately owned CCTV from a nearby house. I wonder what is the policy of @GrabMY in the event of abduction while taking their service.”
Digital creator Ikhwan (@JatIkhwan) echoed a similar concern.
“Pastor Koh, Joshua Hilmy and Amri Che Mat were abducted in broad daylight and are still missing until today,” lamented the self-proclaimed in-house legal advisor.
Pastor Koh, Joshua Hilmy and Amri Che Mat were abducted in broad daylight and still hilang until today. And again hari ini kita dengar kes Datin Sri Pamela Ling isteri kepada tokei hartanah di Sarawak yang diculik semasa dalam perjalanan ke pejabat SPRM. “And again today we hear about the case of Datin Sri Pamela Ling, the wife of a property tycoon in Sarawak who was kidnapped while on her way to the MACC office. What happened?”
Zooming into Ling’s fate, a female netizen wondered if the police “have questioned her husband Datuk Seri Thomas Hah Tiing Siu (crony of Hajiji Sabah) yet? 😁”

For the record, Ling, 42, is married to Miri businessman Datuk Seri Thomas Hah Tiing Siu who was linked to a controversial land deal on an island in Sabah’s northern Kudat district.
Ling’s lawyer Datuk N. Sivananthan when contacted by The Edge said the MACC was investigating her and her husband on a money laundering matter.
“She and her husband are in the middle of a very acrimonious divorce both in Singapore and Malaysia involving a large estate,” added Sivananthan.
While some netizens perceived the incident as a “plot from the movie”, others are dumbfounded as to why Ling’s disappearance was only made public almost a month after her deemed abduction.
Editor’s Note: Witness account has it that she was last seen in a Grab car en route to the MACC headquarters in when the vehicle she was travelling in was reportedly intercepted by three vehicles.
The police are investigating it as a potential kidnapping under Section 365 of the Penal Code.
This is where an ingenious netizen mooted the idea of citizen brigade to assist in the search operation given the case of late customs tribunal officer Lim Ju Vynn has yet to be resolved until today.
