Police in viral video scares children into behaving safely on the road

TO CREATE a model citizen, education must start at a tender age. While this statement is a staple in any primary school, recently, it seems to have much relevance on the road too.

In a viral video on X, a police officer could be seen educating three tots about safety on the road. No books, no pen or pencil.

Merely three naughty offenders being caught riding bikes without brakes on the highway. And what does he do? He merely frightened the kids by threatening to send them all to jail.

Netizens who watched the video were either tickled pink by it, or gave the thumbs up to the police officer for his wholesome reprimand.

“It is good that the police did this. Hopefully this becomes a lesson and the little boys will take care of their safety,” said netizen @P020Peng_Chepa.

Also, @realshahr approved his method, adding that his act would give the kids and their parents some awareness.

However, @pedoqpop_ wondered if the police had the right to record and publish people who were underaged without permission.

Towards his comment, @qywhaaat replied that it was likely a body camera. “Recording is a must. Publishing it? I don’t know,” he said.

Although the brief video shows a heartwarming end where the kids were released, it is vital to note that digital materials will stay for a long time on the cyberspace.

With that in mind, perhaps the faces in the video could be blurred out to protect the children’s identity. After all, their crime was but a small one.

“Congratulations,” said @pengeratdaging, further pointing out that netizens should not condemn the officer for reprimanding the children like this.

“If this happens to my children, I will only laugh at the police for doing it like this. Then they know if they are wrong, they will be caught by the police,” he said.

“It is the mother and father’s job but the police has to do it,” said @joker143dl whose thoughts were also echoed by @keshvinsidhu.

“Teach them when they are small. When they get big, they will become Mat Rempits,” said @keshvinsidhu

But @captain68404915 was not so optimistic about the outcome of this story, stating that the kids may simply revert to their reckless behaviour tomorrow. —June 9, 2025
