DETRACTORS have trolled PKR vice-president Datuk Seri R. Ramanan from why he held his abrupt media conference at his Sungai Buloh MP service centre rather than his ministry to why he was getting so worked up with corporate raider Victor Chin Boon Loong’s latest RM9.5 mil bribery exposé.
This is given apart from the “Mr R” clue matching both his initials, the former NexG Bhd chief operating officer (COO) had apparently distinguished between the unidentified PKR MP and one “Mr R” whom he claimed to have acted as an intermediary and worked closely with the deemed “corporate mafia” who has been harassing him.
To put things into perspective, Chin had in a 40-page statement on Tuesday (March 24) claimed that a PKR lawmaker had requested RM10 mil in cash from him in October 2025 to resolve his legal troubles by speaking to the said “corporate mafia”.
However, Chin who had paid RM9.5 mil of this sum on Oct 18 last year is now demanding a full refund with a March 30 ultimatum given his woes were not resolved lest he shall expose the lawmaker’s identity.
UPDATE: Ramanan dares the accuser to name who is Mr R and to show receipt of any transactions. Most of his PC, however, was focused on attacking @rafiziramli, saying he is tarnishing the party’s image by riding on the Victor Chin issue https://t.co/oknSJjRtRV

Fair enough that Ramanan staked his innocence by hitting out at Chin whom he believed to be in UK to “stop smoking cigars overseas’ and “to paint himself as the victim so that he can get political asylum in the UK” for his dirty narrative to tarnish the reputation of PKR, its MPs and the Madani government.
He even has his former Sungai Buloh MP predecessor and lawyer Sivarasa Rasiah to back him by chastising Chin as a “Albert Tei imitator” while challenging Chin to “just lodge a police report and have a media conference telling us who he is implicating and the evidence he has”.
“Stop this foolish theatrics! And then let the police do their job. And let whoever he names respond,” fumed Sivarasa in a X post.
This Victor Chin Albert Tei imitator should just lodge a police report and have a press conference telling us who he is implicating and the evidence he has. Stop this foolish theatrics! And then let the police do their job. And let whoever he names respond.…

But the motive of Ramanan’s 25-muinute media conference becomes questionable when he turned the event into a bashing session on fellow PKR comrade and ‘Camp B’ former party deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli midway through his media conference.
“10 minutes (of the media conference was) about Victor Chin but Ramanan berated me in the rest of it,” admitted former economy minister Rafizi in a Facebook post.

“Among other things, he accused (i) me of mobilising cybertroopers to link him as “Mr R” as per Victor Chin’s revelation; and (ii) that I’m a failed minister and a coward,” added the Pandan MP who promised to spill the beans on is the “Mr R” in his subsequent social media post.
This was picked up by Madani critic Leon Wen who described Ramanan media conference which was intended to “do damage control” as “getting more and more out of control”
“There’s hardly any worthwhile explanation except a bunch of personal attack on Rafizi. That’s a low-class diversionary tactic made in professional style,” observed the avid big biker in a Facebook assessment of Ramanan’s media conference.
“It seems more like trying to divert attention, not answer the real question. Therefore, it’s better to wait for the classic Rafizi move … collecting the facts, arranging the narrative and when it comes out, not only provide the answer but reset the entire game … one which is neatly organised and impactful.”
As to who then is the “Mr R” in question, Madani critic Datuk Eric See-To reckoned that Chin had indirectly revealed the personality “when he stated that Mr R also holds the position of HeiTech Padu Bhd executive director”.
“Mr R’s true identity has actually been directly and clearly revealed by the NexG Bhd founder and chairman in his media statement on March 10,” he revealed on his FB page. “So far, HeiTech Padu only has one executive director”. – March 26, 2026
