BURSA Malaysia closed higher today with market sentiment improving following reports that Iran may attend a second round of negotiations with the United States in Pakistan.
At 5pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 13.03 points, or 0.77%, to 1,715.33 from Monday’s close of 1,702.30.
The benchmark index opened 0.31 of a point higher at 1,702.61, and moved between 1,700.54 and 1,716.64 during the day.
In the broader market, gainers thumped losers 722 to 502, while 547 counters were unchanged, 988 untraded and 13 suspended.
Turnover increased to 3.45 billion units valued at RM3.18 bil from 3.03 billion units valued at RM2.92 bil on Monday. ‒ April 21, 2026
