THE BN-PN landslide victory in Negeri Sembilan has undoubtedly unveiled the underlying discontent towards the Madani government. This will not bode well for the coming general election.
But before the critical event that will shape the future face of Malaysia, we, the Rakyat, also get to enjoy all the satire and biting humour directed towards our beloved politicians.
The star of a recent video on X is no other than the Minister of Transport, Anthony Loke. He could be seen, intensely scooping up bihun into plastic plates and handing it out to the many Malay voters.
Netizens, of course, are having a field day teasing him for what they perceive as a way to win the hearts of the people.

“The look on his face doesn’t seem sincere, like he is angry but is forced to do it to fish for votes,” said @HajemanS2.
Another netizen believed such techniques which he calls as “Heart Pishing,” will not work.
The comment section is turning into a comedy section by the moment with @OK101095 stating that it was good that Anthony Loke knows the Malays don’t like eating vegetables.
“Semoga Anthony Loke performs better as the opposition. We need healthy democracy, whatever that means,” added netizen @joy_ziz55738.

Then there was @fadzioriq sarcastically suggesting he slips a RM100 note under there because the Malays are easily bought with money.
“It’s okay, he can still sell those plate numbers,” said @NikSyauqi who is most likely referring to the special number plates for electric vehicles (EV) Loke issued somewhere in 2023 which was shrouded in controversy.
In the past, Loke explained that the clear identification of EVs is important to enable the Fire and Rescue Services Department to identify the vehicle in the event of an accident.
He said this is crucial as the fire rescue department can’t simply spray water for EV-related fires. Typically, fires involving EVs require different procedures and special tools.
Returning to the story at hand, the video and the flood of sarcastic comments may provide plenty of laughs, but they also reflect a harsher political reality. In today’s Malaysia, every gesture by a politician is scrutinised, mocked and judged.
Whether Anthony Loke was simply serving food or trying to win hearts, the court of public opinion had already reached its verdict.—Aug 2, 2026
