What to expect on Bursa Malaysia this Friday

BELOW are excerpts of viewpoints from two selected research houses on what investors can expect in the day ahead:

Berjaya Research

The FBM KLCI rebounded, recouping all its previous session losses, supported by gains in banking heavyweights following Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) decision to maintain its Overnight Policy Rate (OPR).

Trading volume improved to 3.7 billion shares while market breadth turned negative, signalling that gains were largely concentrated in selected larger cap stocks.

Moving forward, the local bourse may turn volatile, taking cue from the renewed volatility on Wall Street overnight amid concerns over AI (artificial intelligence) capex spending.

Market sentiment is likely to remain cautious with attention turning to the upcoming US October employment report, particularly the unemployment rate, for further clues on labour-market conditions and the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy outlook.

The broader market is likely to remain dour with trading activity expected to taper off ahead of the extended festive break. Meanwhile, we reckon data-centre related stocks may trade on a negative tone today.

Following yesterday strong gains, we see profit taking to potentially take precedence. The immediate resistances are now shifted to 1,640-1,650 points. Meanwhile the immediate supports are pegged at 1,614 points, followed by 1,600 points.

Malacca Securities Research

The FBM KLCI may face selling pressure after Wall Street’s sharp decline although BNM’s decision to maintain the OPR at 2.75% could offer support.

ViTrox Corp Bhd posted its strongest quarterly results since listing with 3Q FY2026 revenue up 112% year-on-year (yoy) to RM485.1 mil and net profit rising 242% to RM118.6 mil, driven by AI infrastructure and networking inspection demand.

However, the semiconductor sell-off may weigh on sentiment. Guan Chong Bhd may benefit from a recovery in cocoa grindings, up 29% yoy in Asia and 40% among Ivory Coast’s GEPEX members alongside lower bean costs.

KJTS Group Bhd also merits attention with four 20-year cooling agreements in Thailand supporting recurring income being awarded in September 2026.

The local bourse rallied on Thursday, cementing its rebound trajectory with solid support from its key moving average.

Backed by an expanding positive MACD histogram and an RSI crossing above 50, overhead resistance sits at 1,651-1,666 with support established at 1,606-1,621. – Nov 6, 2026
