THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) arrested an aide to Amanah president Mohamad Sabu last night.
According to MalayMail, the man was brought to the party’s headquarters today by several MACC officers.
The man is said to be the same individual who was arrested in 2018 over corruption charges, though this was noted as resolved by Amanah secretary-general at the time, Mohd Anuar Mohd Tahir.
Still, the details for the current detainment remain unclear.
The events of August 2018 saw the aide investigated over allegations that an amount totalling over RM800,000 was received, which he used to settle his bankruptcy. Anuar then announced that Amanah considered the case resolved in September. – July 9, 2020
