COVID-19 seems unabating as the country records 22,262 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 1,535,286.
In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 18,576 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 1,260,470.
“223 people have succumbed today, bringing the death tally to 13,936,” he added.
Selangor recorded the highest number of fresh cases with 7,011, followed by Sabah (2,651), Sarawak (1,964) and Kedah (1,880).
“Of the current active cases, 1,035 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 513 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – Aug 21, 2021
