MALAYSIA continues to record a downward trend in daily COVID-19 cases, with 4,626 new cases reported on Monday (Nov 1), compared to 4,979 cases the previous day (Sunday, Oct 31).
This brings the cumulative number of infections to 2,476,268.
In a statement, Dr Noor Hisham said that of the new cases, only 94 cases (2.0%) were in Categories three, four and five.
Category three refers to patients with pneumonia, Category four needs oxygen assistance and Category five requires respiratory assistance.
The remaining 4,532 cases (98.0%) were in categories one and two.
Meanwhile, according to the CovidNow website, 5,299 patients have recovered, bringing the total to 2,380,060.
There were 63 deaths, thus bringing the death tally to 28,975.
Of the current cases, 569 cases required treatment in intensive care units and 301 cases needed respiratory assistance. – Nov 2, 2021
