THE number of new COVID-19 cases following Chinese New Year celebrations have been experiencing a drastic increase, with Tuesday (Feb 8) morning registering at 11,034.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases detected nationwide since the pandemic started at 2,925,254.
According to the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website, 6,036 patients have recovered within the last 24 hours, marking a total of 2,818,650 patients discharged since the COVID-19 outbreak began.
However, 135 people are still being treated in ICUs with 81 of them in need of ventilator support.
There were also nine fatalities recorded two patients brought in dead (BID), bringing the death toll to 32,043.
Meanwhile, the total number of active cases in the country is now at 74,561, with 87.9% of them (65,566) are being subjected to home quarantine. – Feb 8, 2022
