MALAYSIA has been facing a rapidly increasing number of new COVID-19 cases on a daily basis, with the morning of Feb 14 standing at 21,072 new cases within the last 24 hours.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases detected nationwide since the pandemic started entering the three million mark at 3,019,916.
According to the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website, 5,724 patients have recovered within the last 24 hours, marking a total of 2,852,437 patients discharged since the COVID-19 outbreak began.
However, 187 people are still being treated in ICUs with a majority of them (109) in need of ventilator support.
With the current number of active cases climbing to 155,673, 65.2% of all hospital beds nationwide are being filled up with COVID-19 patients, with 55.1% of ICUs being utilised.
There were also 11 casualties, with five of them brought in dead (BID), bringing the death toll to 32,125. – Feb 14, 2022
