Absurd to compare KWAN withdrawal to i-Sinar, Najib retorts!

DO not make comparisons between Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and National Trust Fund (KWAN) withdrawals, former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak told the Government recently.

“Our Government says that for them to take money from KWAN is equivalent to the people withdrawing money from KWSP under i-Sinar. However, there is a stark difference between both,” he said, in a Facebook post.

Yesterday, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) information chief Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan referred to the Government using KWAN money as workers’ taking out their EPF money.

He also called those who criticised the move as the “grumbling cluster” as the latter were being irrational and unable to understand the people’s plight.

Elaborating on the difference, Najib said that the masses never borrowed almost RM85 bil (including RM5.4 bil from Green Islamic Bond) in the last four months alone.

“Why the need to dip into future savings if the Government had already borrowed RM85 bil and sold off much of the nation’s assets?

“And where is the RM3 bil allocated under Budget 2021, which the Government then claimed was sufficient to purchase vaccines for 85% of the population?

“We also allocated an additional RM2 bil for the vaccines, making it a total of RM5 bil. Where did all the money go?” the Pekan MP queried. – April 25, 2021.
