KUALA LUMPUR: Alibaba Cloud, the data intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, will be providing PolarDB, its next-generation relational database technology to PrestoMall to power the e-commerce platform’s next phase of growth.
In a statement, Alibaba Cloud vice-president Dr Feifei Li said it is essential for companies to have access to reliable, cost-efficient and high-performance cloud computing infrastructure.
“We believe PolarDB will add enormous value to e-commerce companies,” he said.
“We are proud to provide PolarDB to the Malaysia market to give local companies an option to use the high-performance, cost-effective technology to meet growing digital demands, staying ahead of the digital race,” he said.
Previously known as 11street Malaysia, PrestoMall is the largest homegrown online marketplace in the country.
With PolarDB, PrestoMall’s infrastructure would be capable of processing millions of queries per second and can support up to 100 terabyte of data, while simultaneously providing the security, reliability and availability of traditional commercial database. – Jan 9, 2020, Bernama
