Another round of criticism for Wan Saiful for calling the Penang gov’t incompetent

TASEK Gelugor-Perikatan Nasional (PN) MP Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan has stirred up a storm on Twitter with his recent remarks about the Penang state government’s competency.

Wan Saiful highlighted that the state government has a lack of competence, which was evident when the federal government had to intervene in its decision-making in the controversial Southern Reclamation Project (PSI), which has been a cause for concern among PN lawmakers.

The project was approved by the Penang state government, comprising a DAP-UMNO coalition, despite some opposition from the public.

Wan Saiful, who is also a member of the Supreme Council of the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), chided the Penang state government for the central government’s decision to review and downsize the Penang South Islands (PSI) project.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yesterday (May 6) said that the PSI project will be scaled down.

The PSI project had been planned to fund the LRT project, as part of the Penang Transport Master Plan (PTMP).

However, the federal government will provide additional funds for the proposed Penang light rail transit (LRT) project, said Anwar.

“Penang is one of the states that has a lot of cash reserved. Hundreds of MNC companies are there and you’re claiming they are not competent? Why? Are you drunk? Will it be competent if it’s like the state of Kelantan? Why are you so stupid?”

Moreover, user @JoeSunsea said:

“Penang three economy powerhouse-less corruption. The promotion of Islam is also more than other states,” the user alleged.

Meanwhile, user @EngWah1 is very straightforward in commenting on Wan Saiful’s statement:

User @daddydon65 said in a sarcastic way:

I agree that they are incompetent when it comes to stealing people’s money for the sake of greedy trash politics @PNRasmiMY
