GEORGE TOWN, 3 Dis -- Pulau Pinang merupakan negeri kedua yang mempunyai jumlah hartanah tidak terjual tertinggi di Malaysia selepas Johor dengan melibatkan 4,683 unit rumah yang telah siap dibina bernilai RM3.66 bilion.

Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Perumahan, Kerajaan Tempatan, Perancangan Bandar dan Desa negeri, Jagdeep Singh Deo berkata jumlah unit rumah tidak terjual di Pulau Pinang, hanya 347 unit atau tujuh peratus merupakan rumah mampu milik berharga RM300,000 dan ke bawah.

Jagdeep berkata kerajaan negeri turut memainkan peranan dalam menggalakkan pemaju membina rumah mampu milik dengan memperkenalkan pelbagai insentif seperti pengurangan caj-caj melibatkan pemajuan dan sebagainya.
