“Booster shots: How I got a merry-ground treatment for my appointment!”

A FEW days ago, I received a booster dose appointment in MySejahtera app.  I confirmed the appointment which was scheduled at 1pm, at Kajang Kelinik Sdn. Bhd located at No 3, Jalan Sungai Chua, Kajang.

I personally checked out the place a few days ago.

Today I arrived 10 minutes before 1pm as scheduled but the place was empty, with the signboard broken. There was no one at the counter to receive me. Later someone came and said there was no vaccine there. So, I showed my appointment as indicated in the MySejahtera app. He confirmed this was the clinic but there was no vaccine available.

So, I enquired further but he told me to cancel the appointment and wait for another appointment, which I did not do.

I then went out, took a photo of the clinic and called the vaccine hotline number indicated in the  MySejahtera app, which was 1 800 88 8828. I was on the waiting list (no 22) and after six minutes, when it came to my turn, there was no one speaking from the other end.

After saying hello for nearly two minutes with no response, I hung up. I called again and this time I managed to speak to someone, who laughed when I told about the condition of the clinic and they said they didn’t know what to do. When I insisted on lodging a complaint – they gave me another number 03-7723 9300.

I called this number, which was actually the Health Ministry (MOH) office was told me to go back to the clinic and ask them if I can go to another clinic. If the clinic was dismissive, the MOH officer told me that I have to register for a new appointment.

When I went back to the same clinic to check, it was closed. All the shutters were down. All within half an hour after I first went there.

So Mr Health Minister, you were saying that many were missing their booster shot appointments. Was it a deliberate act or they also suffered the same unfortunate merry-go-round treatment like I did?

A real booster indeed!!
