Bursa broke its five-day streak, closes lower

BURSA Malaysia ended its five-day winning streak to end lower today, on profit-taking of heavyweight stocks led by rubber glove manufacturers amidst the mixed regional trend.

The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) fell 21.84 points to 1,662.74 from Friday’s close of 1,684.58.

It opened 2.12 points easier at 1,682.46 and moved between 1,662.45 and 1,695.96 throughout the trading session.

On the broader market, losers outpaced gainers 964 to 461, while 368 counters were unchanged, 351 untraded and 22 others suspended.

Total volume increased to 11.88 billion shares worth RM7.20 bil from 10.03 billion shares valued at RM6.19 bil last Friday.
