COVID-19: 11,332 fresh cases, S’gor back with four-digit infections

MALAYSIA has logged 11,332 new COVID-19 infections on Tuesday (Sept 28), with the cumulative total number of infections now at 2,220,526.

In a tweet, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 14,160 patients have recovered, with the total discharge now standing at 2,020,099.

According to the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website, there were 240 deaths, bringing the death tally to 25,935.

Four states reported four-digit case increases – Sarawak (2,358), Johor (1,319), Selangor (1,231) and Kelantan (1,088).

“Of the current active cases, 985 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 563 of them in need of ventilator support,” Noor Hisham remarked. – Sept 29, 2021
