COVID-19: 16,117 new cases today, 207 dead

MALAYSIA records 16,117 new COVID-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 1,044,071.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 11,526 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 865,439.

“207 people have succumbed today, bringing the death tally to 8,408,” he added.

Selangor recorded the highest number of fresh cases with 6,616 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,457), Kedah (1,000) and Johor (907).

“Of the current active cases, 1,023 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 524 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – July 27, 2021.
