COVID-19: 19,495 fresh cases, Sarawak still in top spot

MALAYSIA has logged 19,495 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday (Sept 15), thus bringing the cumulative total to 2,030,935.

According to the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website, 18,760 patients have recovered, with the total discharged now standing at 1,783,336.

There were 422 deaths, including those who had been brought in dead (BID), bringing the death tally to 22,009.

Sarawak has the highest number of cases compared to other states, with 4,709 new infections recorded.

This is followed by Selangor (2,710), Sabah (2,015) and Johor (1,860).

Of the current active cases, 1,280 patients are still receiving treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU), with 638 of them in need of ventilator support. – Sept 16, 2021.
