COVID-19: Cases on upward trend again, Sarawak still top

MALAYSIA has logged 19,733 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday (Sept 8), thus bringing the cumulative total to 1,900,467.

In a tweet, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 22,701 patients have been cured, with the total discharge now standing at 1,632,631.

There were 361 deaths today, bringing the death tally to 19,163.

Sarawak recorded the highest number of cases (3,100), surpassing Selangor which had 2,989 cases. This is followed by Pulau Pinang (2,474) and Sabah (2,067).

“Of the current active cases, 904 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 430 of them in need of ventilator support,” Noor Hisham remarked. – Sept 8, 2021
