COVID-19: Death toll dips to single-digit, 10 new clusters detected

THE Health Ministry announced 3,499 new COVID-19 infections and five deaths in the past 24 hours.

In a statement, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that there were 3,515 recoveries, bringing the total number of those recovered to 209,289.

“We have a total number of 261,805 infection cases as of now. Unfortunately, five people have lost their lives to the coronavirus, bringing the total death toll to 958,” he added.

All those who died were locals.

Selangor still recorded the highest number of infections with 1,345, followed by Johor (802) and Kuala Lumpur (511).

On related matter, Noor Hisham announced that his ministry has detected 10 new clusters in the country.

Out of the number, nine are workplace related, the balance involved high-risk group.

“With that, we have 483 active clusters. Eleven clusters have ended today; which are Bukit Bakar, Jalan Timah, Seragam Chepa, Restoran Putra, Jalan Desa construction site, Pekeliling, Jalan Chu, Laut construction site, Matahari construction site, Pagar Bentong and Jalan Sembrong. – Feb 13, 2021.
