COVID-19: Over 100 in ICU as the nation records 2,342 infections

EARLIER today, Health Ministry’s CovidNow website indicated 18 deaths for yesterday, bringing total fatality to 31,809. 

“Of the current active cases, 184 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 87 of them in need of ventilator support,” the site indicated. 

As of yesterday, Malaysia recorded 2,342 infections, bringing the cumulative total to 2,810,689.  

In a tweet, the Health Ministry also announced that 2,907 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 2,738,262.  

Terengganu recorded the highest death toll with 21 deaths, followed by Pahang (10) and Melaka (8). – Jan 18, 2022
