COVID-19: Over 300 deaths today, more than 1,000 people in ICU

MALAYSIA seems to be heading for COVID-19 uncertainty as the country records 18,688 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 1,262,540.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 17,055 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 1,026,398.

“Three-hundred sixty people have succumbed today, bringing the death tally to 10,749,” he added.

Selangor recorded the highest number of fresh cases with 6,565, followed by Kuala Lumpur (1,883), Kedah (1,610) and Sabah (1,379).

“Of the current active cases, 1,095 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 571 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – Aug 8, 2021.
