COVID-19: Pandemic still raging with new infection hits above 2,700

NOTHING seems to be stopping COVID-19 as Malaysia recorded 2,717 new cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 390,252.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 2,292 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 365,900.

“Eleven people have died today, bringing the death tally to 1,426,” he added.

Selangor recorded the highest number of cases with 768, followed by Sarawak (570), Kelantan (518) and Kuala Lumpur (240).

“Of the current active cases, 272 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 124 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – April 24, 2021.
