THE Health Ministry announced 2,176 new COVID-19 infections and 10 deaths in the past 24 hours.
In a statement, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that there were 4,521 recoveries, bringing the total number of those recovered to 218,335.
“We have a total number of 266,445 infection cases as of now. Unfortunately, 10 people have lost their lives to the coronavirus, bringing the total death toll to 975,” he added.
All those who lost their lives to the virus were locals.
Selangor still recorded the highest number of infections with 910, followed by Johor (269) and Sarawak (264).
On related matter, Noor Hisham announced that his ministry has detected 13 new clusters in the country.
Out of the number, 10 are workplace related and the rest are community-based, detention centre and high-risk group, respectively.
“With that, we have 489 active clusters. Eight clusters have ended today; which are Jalan Sibuga, Sungai Chua Lake Garden, Jalan Bukit Bendera, Lumut Barat, Pagar Siput, Kampung Renok, sungai redan and Bah Manggis,” he remarked. – Feb 15, 2021.
