COVID-19: Recoveries surpass new cases despite over 900 in ICU

MALAYSIA recorded a lower daily infection rate at 5,271 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 622,086.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 7,548 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 534,357.

“Eighty-two have died today, bringing the death tally to 3,460,” he added.

Selangor recorded the highest number of cases again with 1,374, followed by Sarawak (703), Negeri Sembilan (571) and Kuala Lumpur (455).

“Of the current active cases, 902 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 447 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – June 7, 2021.
