COVID-19 registered 20,670 new cases in Malaysia on Saturday

MALAYSIA has recorded a daily infection rate of 20,670 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 1,384.353.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 17,655 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 1,128,183.

260 people have succumbed today, bringing the death tally to 12,228.

Selangor continues to top the list with 6,606 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,028), Kedah (1,796), Sabah (1,752) and Johor (1,425).

“Of the current active cases, 1,096 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 540 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – Aug 14, 2021
