China’s new COVID-19 outbreak has now reached more than 10 provinces, with over 400 cases reported across the country.

The new wave of infections, which began in the eastern city of Nanjing, Jiangsu province on July 20, 2021, is being fuelled by the highly contagious Delta variant.

It has since spread to Wuhan, the city where the first COVID-19 cases were detected in late 2019.
