COVID-19 vaccines proved to be working, new COVID-19 cases decreased

SINCE Phase 1 of the COVID-19 National Immunisation Programme began, the number of COVID-19 cases have admittedly slowed down, albeit not as fast as expected.

Still, as Malaysians patiently await Phase 2 to begin on Apr 19, 2021, the people are slightly optimistic that things will start to normalise to a certain degree soon, even with the additional standard operating procedures (SOPs) still being implemented.

However, for the first time since 2021 began, the number of new COVID-19 cases finally dropped to the hundreds instead of thousands, standing at 941 today.

The other good news is that were 1,097 recoveries, adding to the cumulative total of 327,406 patient recovery in the country.

But the bad news is, there were five deaths within the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,260.

Apart from that there were also 166 patients still in intensive care units with 73 still requiring ventilation support. – March 29, 2021
