CSDS, Stephy Dance Group harness power of dance to raise funds for special children, elderly folks

THE Centre Stage Dance Studio (CSDS) in collaboration with the Stephy Dance Group hosted a prominent dance charity performance over the weekend (Aug 11) at IOI City Mall in Putrajaya aimed at raising funds for those in need and perpetuating acts of kindness.

This event marked the fifth iteration of such charitable performances. The organisers harnessed the expressive power of dance to convey poignant emotions, foster societal improvements and narrate the stories of individuals requiring assistance thereby stimulating empathy and benevolence.

Additionally, the event was aimed at instilling in children the values of public service and community contribution.

The fundraising dinner which commenced with vibrant performances generated RM8,000 for the Persatuan Rumah Caring Kajang Selangor; Mon Refugee Camp Myanmar (RM7,000) and the Persatuan Insan Istimewa Cheras Selangor (RM7,000).

Stephy Dance Group founder Datuk Stephanie Low Pit Koon shared that the CSDS Dance Centre was established in 2010 and is currently led by principal Ron Low.

The dance centre which recently celebrated its 11th anniversary has flourished due to the sustained support from benevolent donors despite its modest scale and is today well-equipped with comprehensive teaching facilities.

The event which received distinguished support from Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman was well-attended with a total of 43 tables filled up with guests from Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Perak, Johor and Pahang contributing to a vibrant atmosphere.

“Sincere appreciation was extended to committee chairperson Angelyn Nga and the committee members who ensured the successful execution of the dinner,” added Low. – Aug 12, 2024
