Elephant recorded jumpscaring victims in hair-raising video

WHAT happens when one has the misfortune of crossing paths with a wild elephant? When it is a creature larger, taller and heavier than the car you drive, discretion is certainly advised.

But in a video post on X by Sinar Harian, such an encounter may not only be dangerous, but downright frightening.

The video which has since gone viral saw the elephant jumpscaring the victim who was recording the tragedy in a car.

Unsurprisingly, netizens who followed the posts also commented that they were equally shocked besides the victim who gave vent to a shrill cry.

The comment section is also peppered with netizens giving advices on how to deal with an elephant, with some of them being downright hilarious.

Netizen DON_P4BLO advised that if a person were to find an elephant crossing, stop the car while keeping a distance.

“Do not honk and kill the big lights. You are obviously asking for the elephant to turn back, having engaged the lights,” said DON_P4BLO.

MK 𝕏 (카말) ~me is retired of techie guy said next time, have a mouse on standby, likely for scaring the elephant should he or she encounter one on the road.

As usual, a picture speaks a thousand words.

No further information can be derived from the brief video, such as the location of the tragedy or the condition of the passengers in the car.

This isn’t the first time humans have come into conflict with elephants. On September 26 of this year, a tragic incident occurred when an elephant attacked two plantation workers, resulting in one death and another worker left in critical condition.

The attack took place near a school in Felda Tenggaroh after the workers tried to scare off the elephant using sticks.

One of the workers sustained severe injuries to his neck and chest, and tragically passed away on the way to Tenggaroh 2 public health clinic.

The second worker, who suffered head trauma, internal bleeding, and a fractured pelvis, was initially treated at Mersing Hospital before being transferred to Sultan Ismail Hospital in Johor Baru. His condition remains critical. —Nov 6, 2024
