GHL embarks on online road tax and car insurance renewal

PAYMENT solutions provider GHL Systems Bhd has expanded its service offerings to include convenient road tax and vehicle insurance renewal service following a recent tie-up with Loanstreet.

On the heels of the recent launch of its GROW initiative which offers a myriad of both financial and non-financial products, GHL said it is continuing to add more value-added services in addition to payment acceptances.

“In addition to the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and other service providers offering vehicle road tax and insurance renewals, consumers can now also renew online via GHL and Loanstreet,” GHL pointed out in a joint media release with Loanstreet.

“This service enables end-to-end road tax and insurance delivery services right to consumer’s doorstep for a quick and hassle-free process.”

The insurance package, according to GHL, is fully customisable for any additional coverage add-ons that range from windscreen, natural disasters (flood) to liability claim from passengers.

Moreover, the GHL-Loanstreet initiative offers an interesting feature in that consumers are able to compare the multiple options in the market on a single page.

“They can pick and choose, while deciding for themselves what they are most comfortable with,” added the partners.

Currently, the road tax renewal service provided by My E.G. Services Bhd is not ‘entirely online’ given that customers are required to call landline number +603-7801 8888 for assistance between 9am and 7pm daily except on public holidays.

According to the company’s website, customers have to furnish MyEG with details such as vehicle registration number and identity card, type of vehicle, engine capacity (CC), year of manufacture, sum insured and windscreen coverage (optional).

“We will then send you an e-mail with the amount due for insurance and road tax,” noted MyEG. “If satisfied, just click the ‘Proceed to Pay’ button and we will deliver your road tax within the next working day.” – Jan 18, 2021
