GLOCOMP Systems (M) Sdn Bhd, one of Malaysia’s leading information and communication technology (ICT) solutions providers, was recently appointed as a Microsoft Indirect Cloud Solutions Provider (CSP).

This strategic collaboration marks a significant milestone in Glocomp’s journey to “usher in a new era of cloud innovation and service excellence for our extensive ecosystem while also opening a new revenue stream for Glocomp”, according to the company’s managing director Joseph Giam.

“This collaboration with Microsoft also enhances our artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud service offerings to drive transformative digital solutions across Malaysia,” enthused Giam.

In particular, it brings into focus Glocomp’s deep expertise within the public sector while empowering the company to spearhead digital transformation for government entities and public institutions with their unique challenges and requirements.

Microsoft Malaysia’s commercial partner director Gwendolynn Mak said the US tech giant is thrilled to expand its collaboration with Glocomp.

“Through this collaboration, our goal is to realise Microsoft’s commitment as a trusted technology partner to the nation, driving cloud and AI innovation particularly within the public sector to ensure they can thrive in the growing AI-enabled economy.”

Additionally, Glocomp would also serve as a Microsoft CSP Distributor, enabling it to deliver a broad range of Microsoft cloud products and AI solutions directly to its ecosystem. Beyond distribution, Glocomp will offer added services, including billing, technical support and bespoke cloud solutions by catering to specific business requirements.

“This role elevates Glocomp’s capability to assist partners in AI and cloud adoption, optimising the use of Microsoft’s technologies for digital transformation and business success,” explained Glocomp’s director Desmond Low.

“This is further enhanced by our dedicated consulting division that aids businesses in optimising cloud engagement and monetising cloud services, including Microsoft Azure and modern workplace solutions.”

By focusing on maintaining current customers while transitioning them to cloud services as well as capturing ‘greenfield’ customers, Glocomp aims to solidify its position as a “one-stop solutions provider”.

Glocomp’s strategy is also coupled with providing post-sales professional services to its re-sellers by ensuring that they have the support needed to fully leverage cloud capabilities.

Further enhancing its channel strategy, Glocomp is actively engaging with Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions providers within its ecosystem.

“This approach also encourages local innovation, aligning with the broader objectives of Malaysia’s MyDIGITAL vision to spur economic growth through digital transformation,” shared Giam,

“Glocomp would also be making outreach efforts to its partners involved in enterprise resource planning (ERP) and business process outsourcing (BPO).”

Founded in 1997, Glocomp today has a comprehensive portfolio of solutions paired with end-to-end professional services and digital product offerings on computing & information management; IP communications; security & privacy; automation, analytics & AI; productivity; and cloud & technology services. – April 29, 2024
