PAS has reiterated its support for the initial efforts of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to re-group Malay leaders, scientists, political parties, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and influential people under the latter’s Proklamasi Melayu or Malay Proclamation umbrella.
This has become a necessity as the Malays are easily conned and blatantly deceived in view of their ignorance and negligence, according to the Islamist party’s president Tan Sri Hadi Awang who is fond to blame non-Muslims for the rising cases of corruption in Malaysia.
“Victims of ignorance will find themselves wrong-footed in politics, suffer from the disease of corruption, experience moral decline and other ailments that leave them in the state of being divided in matters related to religion, political beliefs, fighting for rank and property,” he penned in a recent “PAS President Mind” segment.
“Don’t let the remaining political power be lost because of ignorance and complacency for political power overshadows everything else. Save today’s situation with the unity of the Malay Muslim race just as what the Prophet SAW did by uniting the Arab race.”
Added the head cleric who is also the Marang MP:
“Just brush aside those who are immersed in the pursuit of wrong ideals till their goal is to legitimise all means and having no qualm to personally attack Malay figures who are successful in politics, economics and academics by various sly innuendos and sarcasm.”
Hadi also slammed Muslims who conspired with the largest non-Muslim and non-Malay circles and many of their followers, most of whom were wealthy donors and recipients of bribes.
“Moreover, there are also those who indulge in extreme political circles by opposing Islam and the Malays, including the media circles which broadcast the voice of the devil to tempt the Malays and the scientific circles whose brains are placed in their stomachs,” he chided.
“These extremists jump like monkeys clinging to trees full of fruits, including those that are poisonous and intoxicating.” – May 9, 2023
