Portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II

The iconic first official photographic portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was taken by society photographer, Dorothy Wilding on February 26, 1952 – just 20 days after The Accession.

Festooned with diamonds and gold resembling fleur-de-lis and scroll patterns, The Queen is wearing the “Girls of Great Britain and Ireland” diamond tiara – a wedding gift from Her grandmother, Queen Mary.
