TONGUES have been wagging ever since news that Harith Iskander – the Godfather of Malaysia’s stand-up comedy – and his spouse Dr Jezamine Lim are to part ways. Social media was awash with all manner of speculation, conjecture and even snide comments over the break-up.
The stand-up comedian, 57, has since taken to social media to clarify matters. In a Facebook post dated July 27, Harith shared a family excursion to Universal Studios theme park across the Causeway.
He stated that both he and his soon-to-be ex-spouse are moving forward onto the next phase of their lives yet they shall remain committed to being loving and responsible parents.
The former Ambi Pur brand ambassador also thanked everyone who had sent messages of support, many of which could be seen attached to the post.
With many echoing the sentiment that regardless of the friction between the parents, the kids always come first.
One netizen summed it up best when he said the couple should be allowed the space to reset. As celebrities, they are subject to all sorts of misconceptions and malicious untruths being spread on both traditional and social media.
He also said a mutual separation which is amicable is better than a court declaring the marriage to be over due to issues such as domestic violence.
It is a fact of modern life that celebrities will have their personal affairs picked over by a voracious public keen on salacious details.
FocusM would like to state that Harith and his family are entitled to their privacy and what transpired between him and his wife are nobody’s business but their own despite Harith having confessed that he was the one who “screwed up”.
Worse are the unkind and hurtful remarks that many seem hell-bent on making while passing judgement. To this segment of keyboard warriors, please bear in mind that there are children involved and to practice this adage – “do to others whatever you would like them to do to you”. – July 29, 2024
