“I will decide soon enough”, Rafizi says following calls for him to “save PKR”

WITH PKR suffering its third “electoral massacre” following the drubbing received at the Johor state election, netizens took to social media to call for PKR vice president Rafizi Ramli to make a “political comeback” following a hiatus.

Following the calls, Rafizi, who also served as the party’s strategy director, said that “he will think about it”.

Errrr semua yg petik nama aku kat Twitter ni, ha3 aku baca. I will reflect and In Sha Allah will have to decide soon enough.

“But please jgn babitkan Kristi in all this. Unfair to her. Dulu zaman awal2 pernah bawak Kristi ke ceramah. Kesian dia tunggu dlm kereta,” he said.

(Everyone seems to be saying my name on Twitter. I will reflect and God willing, I will decide soon enough. However, please don’t involve Kristi here. Unfair to her. I used to bring her during my ceramah sessions in the past and she even had to wait in the car for me)

Kristi is Rafizi’s pet cat.

In the Melaka and Sarawak state elections held last year, PKR got wiped out in both polls which triggered calls for PKR supremo Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to step down.

However, he and his team rejected the call, adding they would make the necessary adjustments to meet voters’ needs.

When the Johor polls was called, PKR surprised even it own allies DAP and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) by deciding that it would use its own logo to contest instead of Pakatan Harapan’s banner.

In their argument, they said that the Pakatan’s logo carried too much baggage, owing it was designed when former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was leading the pact.

It is to note that it is not only Rafizi who took a sabbatical following issues concerning PKR leadership.

Fellow PKR vice president Nurul Izzah Anwar also bowed out from active politics. While it was not mentioned why the Permatang Pauh MP had made the decision, many have speculated it was due to Mahathir’s consistent efforts to thwart reforms when Pakatan was running Malaysia.

Rafizi as president, Nurul Izzah as deputy?

Touching on the matter, Rafizi, a former Pandan MP, then shared some light conversation with netizens in regards to the matter, with the latter sharing the opinions on why he must make a political comeback.

Bro raf. Aku ada anak 6 bulan. Aku bosan2 aku cerita kat anak aku. Dekat malaysia ni ada unsung heroes yg bole selamatkan malaysia.

“Cuma dia tak hensem mcm spiderman Hahaha. Tapi dia boleh buat kerja. InsyaAllah aku bawak dia tgk bro raf kempen nanti. Doakan,” said user Laki Una.

(Brother Rafizi. I have a six-month-year old child. I keep telling my child that Malaysia has unsung heroes who can save the country. Just that they are not handsome like Spiderman. Hahaha. However, they can do the work. I hope one day I can bring my child to your campaigns)

Rafizi then posted a cheeky reply to Laki Una saying: “Ni body shaming. Mentang2 tak sado terus kau cakap tak hensem. Haha.”

(This is body shaming. Just because I don’t have a bulky body, you call me not handsome)

With that said, user Ko-Vhi Wai replied: “You as president, the daughter (Nurul Izzah) as deputy. That will give ppl inspiration that PH is serious about getting back to business.” – March 14, 2022
