Increasing COVID-19 cases putting another festive celebration at risk

AT the alarming rate of increased new COVID-19 cases now, it might threaten and dampen another festive celebration this year.

With yesterday recording the number of new cases reaching over 2,000, today’s number is even higher at 2,551 new cases, with Sarawak being the biggest contributor at 960, followed by Selangor with 590.

Within the last 24 hours, there have also been two additional deaths, totalling the number to 1,365.

There are also 1,524 patients that were discharged since yesterday (total 350,563).

Out of the 1,860 current active cases as of today, 227 patients are still in the ICU with 91 of them in need of ventilator support. – April 16, 2021
