Islamic economic blueprint in line with Shared Prosperity Vision 2030

PUTRAJAYA: The Islamic Economic Blueprint being formulated takes into account several of the country’s long-term plans and is holistic, applying Islamic economic values in national development more comprehensively and covering all economic activities, says Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Wira Amiruddin Hamzah.

He said this is in line with the government’s stated wish in Budget 2020 that an Islamic economic blueprint would be prepared by a Special Committee on Islamic Finance (JKKI) tasked with promoting and encouraging the development of Islamic finance.

Amiruddin, who is also JKKI chairman, said in formulating the blueprint, the committee will take a pragmatic approach and support the objectives of the Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 (WKB2030).

This is aimed at ensuring that the main objective of WKB2030 of providing a decent standard of living for all the people by restructuring the economy and tackling inequality can be achieved, he said.

He said the JKKI will forge close cooperation with government agencies, non-governmental organisations and various other stakeholders. – Bernama
