BUSINESS continues as usual for Shopee, a leading e-commerce platform, during the two-week Movement Control Order in the country that begins today to contain the spread of Covid-19.
Shopee’s regional managing director Ian Ho said all products including daily necessities such as toilet rolls, wet wipes, face masks, hand sanitisers, cooking oil, canned food, coffee, rice as well as fish, chicken, beef and vegetables are still available for purchase on the online platform.
“At the same time, we are working closely with our partners, retailers and suppliers such as Mydin, Tesco, Nestle, AEON Big, Vinda and FreshTap.my to ensure that there is sufficient supply to cater to Malaysians’ needs,” he said in a statement today.
On Shopee Mart, Ho said, they hold stocks for close to 10,000 types of products.
Shopee would also be taking additional measures by limiting the number of key and essential items that can be purchased by each customer to ensure that all Malaysians, regardless of economic standing, have fair access to their daily essentials.
“Additionally, we will continue to provide next-day delivery in the Klang Valley and southern Malaysia for orders made on Shopee Mart by 10am daily, excluding Sundays and public holidays,” he said.
The online store also continues to provide free shipping nationwide to ease delivery costs during this period except for orders that are placed with office delivery addresses where logistics providers will deliver orders after April 1. — March 18, 2020, Bernama
