#Lawan rally: Police make unannounced visit to activist’s house

Letter to Editor

AT about 8.29pm, I received a phone call from a police officer. The police officer identified himself as an Inspector from Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah (JSJ) from Ibu Pejabat Kontinjen Kuala Lumpur (IPK KL).

The Inspector mentioned that his team were at my residential premise located in Kuala Lumpur, wanting to meet me. I was at home that time but the police were adamant to meet me.

I then gave a call back at about 8.59pm, stating that I will be late. Subsequently, the Inspector said they will leave the place.

The police did not enter the residential premise, but it is unclear if the police may return another day.

As told by the Inspector, the unannounced visit of the police was related to the #Lawan rally held on last Saturday. I have already been investigated for the #Lawan rally by the police at IPD Dang Wangi on Aug 3.

The unannounced visit of the senior police officers is a kind of politically motivated intimidations to silence the people.

The Perikatan Nasional (PN) Government should not misuse the police as a political tool to intimidate and suppress political critics. – Aug 5, 2021
