Let’s unite and do our parts to battle the COVID-19 war

I WOULD like to applaud all our frontliners who have placed duty before self in the battle to keep against the COVID-19 pandemic.  Credit needs to be given to them for their dedication to nation.

These officers regardless of the uniform they donned each serve a common goal towards safeguarding Malaysia in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The police and armed forces man the road blocks, the medical personnel toil in the hospitals, the Civil Defence Force aid in disaster management and the list of our frontliners duties just goes above and beyond these words typed.

They go by the tagline of “I Stay at Work for You, You Stay at Home for us” and to me this rings true.

It is a simple, clear and effective message.  However, their hard work, dedication and perseverance might just go down in vain if people throw caution to the wind.

It’s still a common sight to see individuals flout the COVID-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) despite countless reminders, messages and in some instance even pleas.

There are still people who refuse to wear their face masks properly while some irresponsible individuals couldn’t even be bothered to log their details for contact tracing purposes.

My message is simple. Please change your attitude and behaviour. It really is not hard at all. It only takes maturity and common sense.

So, please spare a thought for not only our frontliners but society as a whole and do your part to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus. – Feb 25, 2021
