Xiaomi’s 5G-forward flagship smartphone series debuts for the first time in Malaysia

Global technology leader Xiaomi today launched the latest devices in its popular Mi smartphone series, Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. For the first time ever in Malaysia, each device in Xiaomi’s new flagship line is 5G-ready out of the box, enabling the next generation in mobile connectivity. Starting from 1st May 2020, Mi 10 will retail starting from RM 2,799 and Mi 10 Pro will retail at RM 3,899. In addition, pre-order promotions for the new smartphones with amazing smart hardware gifts will also be available from April 22-30, 2020.

“The Mi 10 series is the latest premium smartphones from Xiaomi, officially marking our first tap into the high-end smartphone segment. We are very pleased to see the total sales volume of the Mi 10 series in China has surpassed 1 million units on 21st April 2020. This number was achieved despite the COVID-19 outbreak that has dented some of our manufacturing capacity for about a month. We know that our Malaysian Mi fans and users have been waiting for the Mi 10 series. That is why we are excited to announce that the Mi 10 series is finally reaching the Malaysian shores, aiming to bring the best experience to Mi fans and users, whether it’s in the leading performance with Qualcomm SnapdragonTM 865, the 108MP quad-camera with 8K video recording or the 6.67” 3D curved AMOLED with TrueColor technology,” said Nicolas Shi, Xiaomi Country Manager of Malaysia and Singapore.

He continues, “We are also proud that this year, the Mi 10 series will debut as the first Xiaomi products in Malaysia that is powered by the latest 5G technology. This is in line with our ‘5G+AIoT’ strategy that we have set earlier this year. This is a revolutionary combination that will fundamentally change all of our products, catalyzing the next stage of our growth in 2020 and beyond. The 5G technology promises to change people’s lives including Malaysians and we would like to be part of this initiative even in this early stage.”
