LOCAL company that specialises in providing automotive services for the defence industry, Mildef International Technologies (Mildef) developed its own 4×4 high mobility armoured vehicle that will be suitable for the local and international markets.
With a proven track record in all aspects of heavy equipment maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), the Mildef HMAV4x4 is a combat vehicle able to perform impactfully in both man-made and natural terrain.
It can also be customised with specifications for the country that requests for its application.
Equipped with state-of-the-art artillery, grenade and mine blast functions, the weapon platform for this vehicle uses Remote Control Weapon Station (RCWS) which enables this fighting vehicle to fire throughout 360 degrees while moving.
The vehicle will also be equipped with underbelly protection Stanag 4569 Level 2B and hull protection Stanag 4569 Level 2 to protect the crew inside it.
“We rely too much on international supplier which will become an issue in term of after sale support within the army service. To resolve this, Malaysia needs to manufacture its own 4×4 armoured vehicles,” said Mildef CEO Datuk Seri Mohd Nizam Kasa.
“After years of intensive work, we are honoured to say that we have successfully built two prototype units and they are ready for our trials,” he added.
Other than supplying to the Malaysian market, MILDEF has high hopes to penetrate the ASEAN market before exploring opportunities to export the vehicle to the other region. – Feb 11, 2021
